How I Got Into Education: I am from Seattle, was raised in Madrona, and currently live in the neighborhood. I always thought I would be a teacher. I ended up working in the nonprofit sector for several years and then in communications. I eventually found my way back into tutoring, which brought me full circle and helped me realize I wanted to pursue a career in teaching. This will be my 13th year in a fourth or fifth grade classroom.

Hobbies: Hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, backpacking, reading, and going on walks with friends

How I Got Into Occupational Therapy: I became interested in occupational therapy after shadowing and working alongside a therapist while I was in high school. I found it to be a fun and meaningful field and pursued it through college and graduate school. Before joining Seattle Public Schools, I spent more than six years working with children in a private occupational therapy clinic.
Hobbies: Running, photography, reading, and watching movies

How I Got Into Education: I wanted to become a teacher for students who looked like me. Growing up, I did not have a teacher—not even in college—who shared my Asian or Filipino background, and I wanted my students to have the representation I never had so that they could hear more stories that sound like home.
